40 KTA MEK unit introduces the following processing scheme: direct hydration of n-butylene to make sec-butyl alcohol (SBA) and then oxydehydrogenation of vapor SBA to produce MEK product. 
Compared with traditional sulfuric acid indirect hydration method, the direct hydration takes advantage of short process flow, less plot demand, less industrial waste discharge, high selectivity, etc..
Oxydehydrogenation of vapor SBA is featured with simple operation, high per pass conversion as well as superior quality of products.
MEK is a kind of broad spectrum organic solvent with good performance. It has been widely used in coating, dying, pharmacy and lube oil de-waxing due to excellent solubility, volatility, non toxic and aridity.
At present, MEK is the most eco-friendly solvent in the world which can effectively avert hazards resulting from the use of benzene. In addition, MEK, as a type of important raw material for downstream fine chemical industry, can be used as corrosion inhibitor, anti-oxidant, anti-desquamatory agent for catalyst, coating and spice.
