CATOFIN process licensed by Lummus is adopted in the 600 KTA propane dehydrogenation plant to produce propylene over high efficient PS+HGM catalyst. CATOFIN is the most advanced technology in the field of propane dehydrogenation featured with high propane conversion, high propylene selectivity, high feedstock flexibility and high on-stream efficiency.

Several critical equipments, such as reactors, product gas compressor and reactor valves, are manufactured by foreign vendors with their proprietary know-how. The plant is characterized by simple operation, long run length, and low unit energy consumption and low emission which accounts for only 1/2 and 1/20 compared with traditional process respectively.
Propylene is a fundamental raw material and a necessity in national economic development. As a basic material used in three synthetic materials, it has been widely used to produce polypropylene (PP), acrylonitrile (AN), propylene oxide (PO), acrylic acid (AA), etc.
On one hand, it acts as basic material for daily necessities; On the other hand, it matters more in the need of national strategy. The research and application of medical apparatus and new aerospace materials in the future could not be carried out without the industrial chain extension of propylene.
